Complete Handyman

Come join Scherer Contracting as our newest Complete Handyman.

Your Skills:

You will be a great Complete Handyman if any of these describe you:

• You can build shelves, staircases, railways, , indoor moulding

• You can build outdoor shed, outdoor decks

• You enjoy custom jobs tailored to each customer's budget and requests

• You can paint, install doors, replace fixtures

• You have 1-2 years of non-permit handyman type work experience

• You strive in environments with little to no guidance

• You understand making the customer happy is always the highest priority

Must Have:

• A vehicle or reliable method of transportation to drive to and from site. Bonus points if you have pickup truck or SUV and are willing to use it for work

Compensation:

• $15-25/hour depending on experience

• Generally, 20-40 hours per week with occasional overtime opportunities

• Weekly hours are dependent upon number of jobs going on

Hiring Process:

1. Informal call with Don to talk about your background and experience (we will reach out after you submit your application)

2. "A Day with Don Handyman Ride-Along". Depending on your background and the current jobs we have going on, you will work with Don on a current job. He will give you various tasks throughout the day and you will be evaluated based on how well you perform those tasks and how much oversight or help you require. Bring water and lunch! Expect to work an 8 hour day. You will be paid $15/hour which will total to $120 for the day.

3. Hiring Decision - We will reach out if we choose to move forward with you. Please note, if we do not hire you full time, we will still consider you for part-time work opportunities as they become available depending on your "Ride-Along" performance and your experiences.
